In Order of Appearance:

1) Gary Nixon, PhD, is a nondual transpersonal psychologist who is an associate profesor of addictions counselling at the University of Lethbridge. After a journey starting with Osho, and informed by other eastern teachers like Krishnamurti, Trungpa, Papaji, and Nisargadatta, as well as western teachers like Almsas and Wilber, Gary came to an end of the line exhausted place of surrender at the end of seeking. Paradoxically, in an impersonal seeing beyond mind, it was seen nobody is here, and this moment is it. Life became an invitation to surrender in each moment and abide in nondual being, while being open to shadow issues that arise in the ongoing journey. Gary has been leading nondual tranformational groups over the last ten years.

Title: Tangled up in Blue: Transforming Being Lost in Nondual Limbo Land.

After years of nondual seeking, many of us can get stuck in a huge rut of one sort or another. We can get caught clutching onto nondual cliches of the mind, circling lost in the hell realm of the unresolved dark night of the soul, being blinded by unexamined assumptions and expectations around awakening, wondering around in the wasteland of the desert, dissassociating with the detached witnesser, or being caught up in half baked mystical stories of one sort or another. This presentation is an invitation for a "seeing" beyond mind in which the "self" falls away, and all of this debris is cast aside as the reality of this moment is revealed. We will also look at subtle ways that the "self" can back to play even after "awakening" as previously unconscious uncooked seeds of self are revealed.

2) Chuck Hillig is a modern spiritual teacher, author and state-licensed psychotherapist whose clairity of expression has earned him the admiration and praise of many nondual writers and teachers. Chuck speaks and writes personally and directly about the essence of nondual spirtuailty and presents its astonishing truths in compelling ways that are totally uniuque, completely accessible, and absolutely life-changing. Using his studies in both eartern philosophy and western psychology, Chuck's five books present a worldview about living an enlightened and authentic life in the 21st Century by waking up to who you really are. Title: Non-dual Awareness in the  Marketplace: From Being the "Dreaming-Dreamer" to Becoming the "Awakened-Dreamer."

But what are really the astonishing and mind-blowing implications of experiencing the world from such a radical perspective?  Can a nondual Consciousness ever really be compatible with the ordinary, day-to-day struggles to pay bills, to pass tests, to plan a future career, and, generally, to endure the “…slings and arrows…” that inevitably show up in the ongoing melodrama better known as “your life?” There’s a core, fundamental truth that lies at the very heart of each of the great religions and spiritual philosophies: all perceived separation is really illusory, and that, in spite of all outward appearances, everything is, quintessentially, only one.  In short, is it really possible to balance and integrate such a nondual Awareness with actually living a fully authentic and interactive human life "down-in-the-marketplace?”

Using Powerpoint, exercises and dialogue, we'll explore how to move your awareness from being the "dreaming-dreamer" to becoming the "awakened-dreamer."

3) Brian Theriault (M.Ed., C.C.C.) completed his master’s degree in counselling psychology and embraces a nondual-transpersonal approach in his clinical work counselling clients. Brian was introduced to nonduality through Gary Nixon and has done personal work with him for several years. He has worked as a therapist in a number of counselling environments, including addiction and mental health agencies, and has his own private practice (www.luminousawakenings.com).  He is also an associate editor for Paradoxica: The Journal of Nondual Psychology and has several published articles illustrating the transforming power of nondual psychotherapy. He utilizes the work of nondual psychologists Gary Nixon, A.H. Almaas, Ken Wilber and the profound Zen and mystical teachings of Osho a
nd Lao Tzu.

Title: Blown Wide Open in a Trembling Universe: Tranforming Grief and Loss Through Nondual Psychotherapy

This presentation explores the application of nondual psychology in transforming grief and loss into the experience of nondual being. The experience of grief and loss serves as a possible catalyst to this radical experience because it can usher in the experience of death and non-being, shattering one’s conventional notions of self. Our whole world can come crashing in where all of our hopes and dreams quickly fall apart and all of our repressed fears come screaming to the surface. Rather than defending against this experience, the invitation is to surrender and cooperate with the process; to ride the energetic vortex of grief and loss without our stories, bargains and demands against existence, and perhaps, mysteriously out of this, we come to realize the deepest truth imaginable; the already existing Eternal love and connection here and now. There will be a focus on working with client barriers to this experience and intervention strategies for counsellors to use when facilitating movement towards nondual being.

4) Jason Solowoniuk, M.Ed. experienced a spontaneous awakening ten years ago, and has embraced the nondual perspective ever since. After completing an addictons counselling degree, he did his Masters in counselling psychology, and has been teaching with the Addictions Counselling program at the University of Lethbridge. He also works part-time as a therapist for Lethbridge Family Services where he comes from a nondual pscyhotherapy perspective in working with clients on a whole range of issues.

Title: Working the Greyish Zones: Applying McKennian Insights for Nondual Psychotherapists

This presentation will inquire into client impasses and their meetings at the edge of experience where letting go often does not occur impeding client freedom and spaciousness.  Stepping into the work of Jed McKenna and his notion of “further”

5) Will Joel Friedman, Ph.D., practices as a journeyman psychologist, licensed since 1987 and in the field of Psychology since 1977, doing what works in standing in awareness, honoring intuitive wisdom, and moving with the flow of Spirit. He practices Presence-centered therapy in private practice located in Pleasanton, California, in the East San Francisco Bay with strong emphasis upon nondual presence. witnessing, inquiry approaches (e.g., belief-role-story-pattern-identity deconstruction), EMDR, building strong internal resources and emotional capacities, taking in the good, and sensory awareness/ experiencing. This one still know nothing, welcomes, surrenders and celebrates everything, purely engaging in being and doing what is loved. I am not here, only This.
No one in particular home, only Home. He is on the Editorial Board of Paradoxica: Journal of Nondual Psychology. Will welcomes feedback directly—email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and his website is: www.willjoelfriedman.com.

Title: Love and the Killer: Being Inside Four Extreme Nondual Healing Tales

Four riveting tales make the audience a participant in psychodramas showing nondual themes of dying before you die, complete loving surrender, facing death and presence. Each vignette’s resolution demands unprecedented love and killer energy in the hell realms to make the transformation essential to inhabit being no one.

6) Chad Cameron is a filmmaker, writer and businessman.  Growing up with his schoolteacher parents, he was encouraged from an early age to study the world by asking open-ended questions.  However, when he was 12, Chad’s life changed radically when he started to question the very nature of existence, itself.  Finally arriving at the ultimate inquiry, “How do I know that anything, even ME, is really real?” his entire world came to an abrupt stop.  That one question, and all that it implies, put him on a 30-year quest for the Truth.  Over the years, Chad has become well-versed in nonduality.  He connected with over 100 notable teachers and authors in this field and formed his own production company to create three full-length films to fully document these mind-altering interviews.   In 2010, Chad sold his production company and began living in SE Asia for the better part of a year in order to immerse himself into a non-English speaking culture.  Currently, Chad is busy with many projects including his next film project that will center around the radical ideas that he’ll be presenting for the first time here at the Lethbridge Conference.

Title: Mario and the Programmer

This radical presentation is a contemporary look into the very nature of being when seen from within the context of a Cosmic video Game. This cutting-edge query combines humor, modern language, compelling analogies, current scientific knowledge and a liberal dose of nondual philosophy.  In the great discovery that you, like Mario, are always in the exact center of your universe, you become free from the restrictive parameters of the video Game. The invitation here is to find the courage to make a true paradigm shift in how you see the world in general and yourself in particular.
A word of caution before attending:  This presentation may be hazardous to your current belief systems.  When taken internally this liberating idea can cause you to think for yourself and to discover your own Truth

7) Scott Kiloby is the creator of The Natural Rest Method, a book that speaks to overcoming addiction through non-dual presence. He is the author of the print books, “Love’s Quiet Revolution: The End of the Spiritual Search” and “Reflections of the One Life: Daily Pointers to Enlightenment.” He is also the author of two e-books available at www.livingrealization.org called “Living Realization” and “Doorway to Total Liberation: Conversations with ‘What Is.’”

Scott’s main website is www.kiloby.com. It contains writings, videos, and audio interviews with a wide diversity of teachers, authors, scientists, and psychologists. Scott travels across the U.S. and overseas giving talks in which those attending experience nondual presence. In these meetings, every position and belief gets challenged, including every belief about the self, others, and the world, and also all of our ideas about spirituality. This leaves those attending completely open to allow the present moment to unfold in a new way, free of identification with thought. The point of the meetings is allow each person attending to go home and discover for themselves the freedom inherent in presence.

Title: The Natural Rest Method

After a twenty year battle with addiction, Scott Kiloby began looking in a different way. Instead of turning away from negative thoughts and feelings from the past and looking for release in the future, he began to face his suffering directly. He began to allow all negative and positive energies of thought, emotion, and sensation to be as they are. He began to rest and recognize presence as the stable foundation in which these energies temporarily come and go. Through inquiring into the nature of the belief in separation, and how it arises, and making presence primary in his life, Scott discovered that the key to release from the addictive cycle exists in the one place addicts refuse to look—the present moment. Through the years, ss Scott began to write and talk on the subject of non-duality around the United States and overseas, he kept quiet about what he had discovered regarding freedom from addiction. He couldn’t find the right words. In the Spring of 2010, those words began to flow, culminating in a new book called, “The Natural Rest Method.” Scott will be speaking on this topic at the Paradoxica Nondual Psychology conference in 2012.

8) Tom Crockett is an ordained minister and spiritual counselor using non-duality to help clients transcend their own self-induced suffering. He is an artist, author, teacher, and pioneer in the development of Integral Shamanism. He is a lifelong student of Buddhist, Taoist, and Hindu philosophical traditions as well as indigenous spiritual traditions and western Depth Psychology. He is the author of numerous books, including: The Artist Inside: A Spiritual Guide to Cultivating Your Creative Self, Stone Age Wisdom: The Healing Principles of Shamanism, One Drop Awareness: Picturing Enlightenment and Nonduality, PillowBook: Deepening the Art of Sacred Sexual Play, and That Far From Bliss: Three Questions to Crack Open Your Heart.

Title: That Far From Bliss: 3 Questions to Crack Open Open Your Heart

Most people are not looking for enlightenment. They are looking for what they think will bring them happiness. They are looking to be happy. Or, at the very least, they are looking to end their suffering. But because we mistake the transient feelings of happiness we get from attaining material possessions, success, power, or romantic relationships with those actual things or situations, we invest them with more significance than is fair for them to carry. Entire cults, philosophies, systems of belief and even self-help industries have sprung up to service our communal delusion and habitual misperception. But they cannot bring us anything like the real happiness that does not depend on anything outside of ourselves. That happiness is the relaxed ability to abide with what arises, both pleasurable and painful, moment-to-moment. That is the happiness we call bliss.

The opposite of bliss is suffering and suffering (unlike pain) is always a choice. The beginning of the end of suffering is recognizing when you are choosing to add it to your experience of what is arising. What if there were three questions that could guide you into the heart of your suffering, and prove that your most intimate and heartfelt suffering is built on a misunderstanding? This talk proposes that there are three simple questions. If you answer them as deeply and as honestly as you can, they can then be used to more authentically respond to what arises moment-by-moment. Of course what will really change is not your life, but your realization of your true nature as a self that can only really exist in the present moment. True liberation is the freedom to fully embrace pleasure and pain without chasing after happiness or choosing to add suffering to your experience. True liberation begins with realizing that you are always only a breath away from bliss.

9) Canela Michelle Meyers is the best-selling author of “Right Here, Right Now Meditations – Satsang Invitations for Expanding Awareness” which is a book of ‘Invitations’ using everyday scenarios, or details, to become more and more present to ‘What Is’.

When her sons were born, Canela Michelle saw that they were innocent and whole, absolutely no doubt in that.  Her inquiry became:  How to allow the felt sense of Being innocent and whole… because at the time, she did not feel that way.  After many deep and life changing experiences, that whole innocence became manifest with Canela – seen, felt, heard – while in direct connection with Isaac Shapiro.   She asked him – “Is it beyond perception?” and he answered “Yes”.  Awareness became consciously aware of Awareness in that moment and has been so ever since.  Emptiness recognized its play in emptiness.  This then created the inclusion of Canela in the lineage of Ramana Maharshi, Papaji, and Isaac.

Her way of supporting others is in the full acceptance of who they are – to directly feel the innocence and wholeness in each moment.  Vibrationally,  the essence of That is very present in all offerings that she participates in, making it much easier for people to see and accept themselves, no matter what.  Being a Kundalini Yoga Instructor, teaching and practicing ReiKi for over 18 years, and having travelled in over 30 different countries, has honed not only the sensitivities already present in her, but also the ability to share with words what is being pointed to in a way that is understandable and straight forward to those listening.  She is a scientist of energy, following her interest in that and accumulating vast direct experience in the play of That.

Her website www.canelamichelle.com includes invitational videos that display many aspects of her way of seeing & Being (including Satsang) as well as a number of interviews.  There you will also find the schedule of events, along with feedback from participants.  No matter what the format, Canela invites people to relax open to every little bit of who they are, welcoming that which might appear (at first) to be adverse or unwanted, which gives space for a shift in how it is being perceived, supporting an embracing of no more and no less than All That Is.

Title: The Naturally Harmonizing Universe

Every occurrence that appears in this amazing Universe is directed towards its own harmony.  Evidence of this is apparent in the appearance of the world of today and it’s happenings.  Looking at the outwardly appearing current details show that there has been a massive change in the perspective of what is:  in what is important to people, as more and more people become aware of ‘what is’; along with the natural harmlessness that accompanies such a perspective - one does not tend to knowingly harm one’s own Self.  Becoming more and more accepting and aware of who we are as human beings, reflects out into the world…the outermost being a reflection of the innermost:  so above, so below, so inside, so outside….there is no separation.

10) Trent Leighton, Ph.D., is the Clinical Supervisor at Edenbridge Healing Center in Lethbridge, where his nondual practice of psychotherapy continues to evolve. Trent is a lifelong student of the perennial philosophy and has spent decades working on developing a counselling style not based upon the false metaphysical premise of separation and literal selfhood.

Title: The Therapeutic Value of Grace and Redemption: Reclaiming the Healing Wisdom of a NonDual Christ in Psychotherapy

If one spiritual teacher has been reductively paved over with the nondual communities bias for all things “Eastern,” it has been Jesus. As a consequence, the incredibly embodied marriage of form and transcendence offered by Christ is denied entry into our nondual world, remaining trapped in the hubris of an ego based Christianity and institutional intimidation. This offering attempts to reclaim the nondual essence of Christ’s Grace and Redemptive power through the presenters own intimate dance with the heart teachings of Jesus, beginning in childhood and continuing to unfold to this day. The impact and possibility of bringing these revelations into the practice of psychotherapy will also be examined in depth, providing a unique therapeutic witness grounded in a “faith” of the nondual no-self and absolute divine ground of being.

11) Christine Wushke is a yoga and meditation teacher from Alberta, Canada. At the age of six she began to experience heightened and altered states of consciousness. In her curiosity to understand these ‘tastes of the infinite,’ and to uncover the magic of what we are on all levels, she has devoted her life to studying the mysteries and the mystical. After a series of transformative and life changing experiences starting in her twenties, Christine began to understand the importance of the integration of pure consciousness and the absolute, with ordinary human experience. Merging the two into one has become her focus and life’s work.

Title: Freely Human

“Form is emptiness and emptiness is form” – The Heart Sutra
Being freely human is about being undivided in all ways. Being undivided from life means that everything is seen as precious and all aspects of humanity are sacred; nothing is rejected or left out. Living as an awake and free human means we are not separate from anything; Christine loves to point to the seamless nature of unbounded consciousness within the mundane and the ordinary.

Christine talks about the deep integration of the places within us that may seem conflicted or divided. In easy to follow and simple down to earth approaches, she encourages listeners to reconcile any remaining feelings of conflict, merging areas of division into one seamless whole. Through self awareness and acceptance we can find a way to live our day-to-day lives being free within the full spectrum of human experience.

“Unity consciousness has become an important topic for many people on our planet right now; it is my wish to contribute to the quest for true and lasting peace on this planet, both within and without. I see all life as precious, every leaf on every tree as sacred, and the twinkle in a child’s eye as magical. I see the experience of being human as a rare and precious gift, and feel that each moment here is full of potential for expansion, expression, and appreciation for life as it is. I see you as a gift, a treasure, and a unique expression of life itself, and I honor all that you are.”

12) Karen McPhee spent many years on a spiritual path, eventually finding her way to the teachings of Eckhart Tolle. In 1999, Eckhart invited Karen to teach on his behalf. Since that time, she has continued to deepen her understanding of the true nature of existence. Her message is that freedom is here now as one’s abiding nature. Through direct investigation, this nature is recognized. Karen’s no-nonsense approach supports getting directly to the core of suffering and bringing an end to seeking.

Title: Self-less Living: Moving Beyond Separation into the Joy of Unity

The experience of life is ever freer and more joyful as we move beyond the sense of being a separate self, isolated from the whole. Our true nature is ONE. Seeing this is liberating. As the recognition deepens, the remaining sense of separation dissolves and life is lived more fully. In this satsang, Karen will invite you into the recognition of your natural state of ever-present, radiant freedom. There is no theory or teaching offered, but rather the direct experience of the non-dual state.
